Acupuncture
Dating back thousands of years in China, no one quite knows the precise date or exactly how Acupuncture came about. Imagine a time before artificial light, controlled heat and modern technology; ancient people observed the rhythms of nature and described health and illness according to such terms. For example, a rash on the arm might be described as “heat”, or swelling in the legs might be referred to as “dampness”.
We still use the elements to describe the physical state in Acupuncture. This is one of the reasons Acupuncture is a unique and effective choice in the care of difficult to treat conditions by Allopathic medical standards. Acupuncture treats the “root” of the problem and in doing so, the “branches” or symptoms begin to go away over time.
Another reason why people turn to Acupuncture is due to the personalized approach. Each treatment is tailored to the individual patient. For example; multiple patients may seek help from Acupuncture for Migraine headaches, but according to Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, each of their headaches have different causes and would be treated differently.
The most important reason why people should choose Acupuncture and Holistic therapies is because it allows the body to do the healing it is meant to do. Acupuncture assists the body’s natural healing process with no side-effects. The changes can be subtle and dramatic, but are most often welcome.
